Marlboro Police Warn Residents How To Handle Snow Issues
Marlboro Police warn residents and visitors to be careful of driving in today's snow and not to abandon vehicles in snow.

MARLBORO, NJ - Police have posted advisories on their Facebook page and other social media and are as well reaching out to residents by telephone to warn of the winter weather advisory that is in effect until 9 p.m.. Marlboro is expecting between 2 and 3 inches of snow and authorities warn of particularly bad road conditions during late afternoon and evening.
The steadiest and heaviest snow is expected to fall between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. with snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour possible, police said. The township Department of Public Works has been pretreating the roads to minimize icing but travelers should still expect danger and should check with police on social media for updates during the storm. Police also recommend restricting driving during the storm for safety reasons and to help keep roadways clear for plows.
Police also remind that structures such as portable basketball courts should be removed from the roadway and brush or leaves also must be removed. The roads should be cleared of vehicles to allow plows the clearest shots for clearing the roads. Any vehicles that remain on the roads will be ticketed and towed at owners' expense, authorities said.

It is best, police said, to wait to shovel snow until the snow has stopped falling and the roadway has been plowed. Do not throw snow into a plowed roadway, they said.
Police will issue summonses for residents and visitors who are not acting responsibly during the storm.
