Morganville Resident Lillian Spafford Dies at Age 90

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in Lillian's memory.

Lillian M. (Martin) Spafford, 90, of Morganville, passed away, Monday, November 4, 2013, at home. Born in Long Branch, she grew up in Keansburg, moving to Morganville over 40 years ago.  She worked as a bank teller prior to working as a secretary for the signal school at Fort Monmouth.  She was a member for over 50 years with the New Point Comfort Ladies Auxiliary.

Lillian was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Spafford in 2002.  She is survived by her loving children, Janice Casey of Morganville; Sandra Leibolt of Ohio; Gerald Broander of TN; and Stephen Broander of Ohio; a dear sister, Elizabeth Helfer of Port Monmouth; ten cherished grandchildren and 13 precious great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 2-6PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, with a service during the visitation at a time to be announced. Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation in Lillian’s memory.  To post an online condolence or for directions to the funeral home, visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
