Nail Polish Thief Strikes Twice: Marlboro Woman Stole Bottles Valued at Over $1K, Police Say

Raykowski was also charged with allegedly stealing 119 bottles of nail polish from a Linden CVS.

It's possible Lauren Raykowski was just trying to open her own nail salon for a reasonable price.

Raykowski, 23, of Marlboro was charged again with stealing thousands of dollars worth of nail polish from a retail store in North Jersey, after loss prevention officers recognized her photo in a previous allegedly nail polish theft.

According to the Asbury Park Press, loss prevention officers at a Walmart recognized Raykowski after her photo hit the media following a nail polish theft in Linden. At Walmart, the Marlboro woman is accused of stealing $1,317 worth of nail polish on Sept. 23.

Also in September, The Asbury Park Press reported Raykowski was working at a North Wood Avenue CVS store in Union County on Sunday when police were flagged down by her employer, claiming Raykowski was allegedly shoplifting.

The 119 bottles of Essie nail polish which retailed over $1,000 and when stopped on her way out the door, RayKowski allegedly bit her employer and maced two coworkers in the face, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Some could say nail polish is becoming a hot commodity. In October, the Aberdeen Township Police Department received a call from a CVS store's manager reporting 100 bottles of nail polish were missing, according to a press release issued by the department. No charges or suspect names have been released to the media regarding that case.
