Pedestrian Hospitalized In Marlboro Following Car Collision
One pedestrian suffered broken bones and internal injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Route 9 Sunday night, police said.
MARLBORO, NJ - A Sunday evening collision involving a pedestrian in Marlboro resulted in one hospitalization, authorities said.
On Sunday, April 11 at around 9:10pm, the Marlboro Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a motor vehicle crash on Route 9 in which a pedestrian was struck. The crash occurred in the area of Willow Lane, police said.
The pedestrian - identified as Nathanial Martinez - was crossing the street when he was struck by a Kia Seltos driven by Lauren Wlodarski, 26, of Rockaway.

Martinez was transported by ambulance by the Morganville First Aid Squad to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with broken bones and internal injuries.
“The cause of the crash is still currently under investigation, but we do not believe drugs or alcohol are factors,” Marlboro Township Police Department Captain Steve Levy said. “It is possible that Mr. Martinez was struck by a second vehicle.”

No charges are pending for the driver as the pedestrian was not crossing at a crosswalk, Levy said.
Route 9 northbound was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was being investigated.
