Police Charge Monmouth County Library Worker With Lewdness

A Monmouth County library employee has been charged with harassment and lewdness in connection with his behavior at work, police said.

A Monmouth County library maintenance worker has been charged with harassment and lewdness in connection with his behavior at work, police said.

James Kiddish, 69, of Jackson, was charged with the disorderly persons offenses “as a result of repeated conduct he is accused of committing towards other adult employees while working at the library as a maintenance worker,” Manalapan police said in a news release.

Deputy Chief Michael Fountain said Kiddish stared at other employees and touched himself inappropriately.

Around 3 p.m. Sept. 15, police received a report about possible harassing behavior at the Monmouth County Library on 125 Symmes Drive in Manalapan, police said.

On Sept. 17, Kiddish was arrested after an investigation by Manalapan Detective Kevin Schmidt and Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Andrea Tozzi.

Kiddish was processed at Manalapan Police Headquarters and released on summonses, with a pending court date in Manalapan Township Municipal Court.
