Prosecutors Investigating Double Fatal That Killed Colts Neck Man

Prosecutors say they are investigating a crash that killed two people on a New Jersey highway.

WAYNE – Prosecutors say they are investigating a crash that killed two people – including a Monmouth County man – on a Wayne highway on Monday.

The crash happened at approximately 6:12 p.m. when police responded to the Hamburg Turnpike near the intersection of Armstrong Avenue in Wayne, where two motor vehicles had collided, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Police Chief Jack McNiff.

A Cadillac CTS operated by Jason Montecalvo, 45, of Colts Neck collided head-on with a Lexus GS300 that was operated by David Pohl, 58, of Haledon, prosecutors said.

Both Montecalvo and Pohl were pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
