COLTS NECK, NJ – Legendary New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen has certainly never shied away from getting political. In a Wednesday morning guest appearance on the E Street Radio SiriusXM station, Springsteen took a moment to express his thoughts on the Trump administration’s mishandling of the current pandemic (you can listen below).

While the sixth installment of his DJ program “From My Home To Yours” was initially supposed to broadcast songs in celebration of the summer months, the Colts Neck resident instead shifted gears to discuss the implications of the pandemic.

“With over 100,000+ Americans dying over the last few months, and the empty, shamed response from our leaders, I’ve been simply pissed off,” Springsteen said during the show’s introduction. “Those lives deserved better than just being an inconvenient statistic for our president’s reelection efforts. It’s a national disgrace.”

Moments before making his first selection – Bob Dylan’s “Disease of Conceit” – Springsteen informed that the coming broadcast would be dedicated to sending prayers for the deceased and the families they left behind.

“I’m going to start out by sending one to the man sitting behind the resolute desk,” he started. “With all respect, sir, show some consideration and care for your countrymen and your country. “Put on a f--king mask.”

Last week’s guest appearance also addressed the current political climate, with an introduction by Springsteen lamenting the killing of George Floyd in police custody:

“As of today, our black citizens continue to be killed unnecessarily by our police on the streets of America,” Springsteen said. “As of this broadcast, the country is on fire and in chaos.”
