Study Shows NJ One Of The Worst States For Doctors
Wallethub recently released a new report comparing doctors in the 50 states and Washington D.C. See how the Garden State fared:
NEW JERSEY - Is New Jersey the best state to receive your next medical procedure or check-up? Not according to a new analysis released this week.
Doctors have emerged as one of the revered front line heroes from the coronavirus pandemic, and, as March 30 is National Doctors' Day, personal finance website WalletHub has released a new report comparing doctors in the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 19 key metrics, from the average annual wage of physicians to hospitals per capita to the quality of the public hospital system.

Other metrics include physicians' average monthly starting salary, insured population rate and malpractice award payout amount per capita.
According to the analysis, New Jersey ranked at No. 47 for doctors, trailing in front of only Washington D.C., New York, Alaska and Rhode Island in last place. In the opportunity and competition category, the Garden State placed at No. 43 out of 51 and, for the medical environment metric, placed at No. 41 out of 51.
