17 Morris County Towns Rank Among Top 100 Safest In N.J.

MENDHAM, NJ— There are a lot of reasons to love living in Morris County, and how safe the towns are is a major reason.

New Jersey Family, a resource for local parents, has announced New Jersey’s "Best Towns for Families 2017," and 17 percent of the top 100 towns are in Morris County.

“This year, we reworked our algorithm to take a deeper dive into high school performance while also weighing things like safety, how affordable a town is, average commute time and more criteria that matters to families,” says Cindy Mironovich, New Jersey Family’s publisher and founder.

The safest town in Morris is Mountain Lakes, coming in at thirteenth for the entire state.

• 46th East Hanover Township

• 82th Harding
• 91th Chester
• 97th Montville

Some towns ranked just outside of the top 100: Parsippany-Troy Hills was 107th, and Denville was 109th.
