40th Annual Chester Science Fair
An exciting celebration of science to be held March 7 at Black River Middle School
Registration has begun for the 40th Annual Chester Science Fair to be held from 8:30-1:30 on Saturday, March 7, at the Black River Middle School, 133 North Road in Chester. Any student living in the Chesters is invited to register a project at www.chestersciencefair.org. New project and special award registration will close Tuesday, February 18. The fair is open to the public.
Students entering projects are invited to apply for a special award presented by experts in the field. Chester Science Fair is very fortunate to have many outside businesses and organizations sponsor our special awards. This year’s special awards are: Alstede Agricultural Achievement Award; Bayer Science for a Better Life Award; Chandler Engineering Design Award; Chemistry and Physics Award; Chester Police Forensic Science Award; Environmental Award; Montclair State University Food Science Award; Schiff Nature, Garden, and Ecology Award; NJ State Nurse Association Award; Psychology Award; and Veterinary Scholar Award.
This year’s fair will again include many exciting educational and interactive exhibits: Alstede Farm’s Plant a Seed, and Bunnies and Chicks; BRMS CO2 Race Track; CCM’s Litmus Test of Household Items; Morris County Division of Mosquito Control’s Mosquito and Tick Biology and Prevention; NJ Academy of Aquatic Sciences’ Marine Mammal Touch Tables; NJ Beekeepers Association; Raritan Watershed Association’s Benthic Macro Invertebrates; Rizzo’s Reptile Discovery; Rutgers University Food Science Graduate Student Association’s Gummy Worms; Schiff Nature Preserve; Science Fair Committee’s Design and Building Challenges; and Chester Township Police Bomb Squad Robot.
