Troop 139 of Chester, NJ needs your help! Each year the Troop holds its annual Scouting for Food event where we physically collect thousands of food items to benefit the Community Presbyterian Church's food basket program. CPC prepares a nice delivery of fresh foods, Turkeys, and our collected items for 50-60 families in the area. Deliveries are made at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter each year.
Last year we had the snow storm and only collected about 40% of our typical Scouting for Food donations, this year with hurricane Sandy the Troop only collected 10% of the normal amount of donations.
To help CPC and the local families it serves we are once again holding an online Food Drive through YouGiveGoods.com. You can go to our drive page, buy a couple items (Or many) and neatly case packed, food items will be delivered right to CPC.
