MENDHAM, NJ — Calais Road will be closed for several hours Wednesday afternoon due to downed power lines, police said.

The road will remain closed between Mountainside Road and Horizon Drive, police warned drivers. A downed tree toppled onto live wires, forcing the closure.

Drivers should plan to take an alternate route.

The downed wires appear to be causing a power outage. According to JCP&L, 176 customers across the Mendhams are without power at 1:30 p.m. That should be fixed by 3:30 p.m.
