Chester Company Gets $422K In Virus Relief Funds

CHESTER, NJ - The federal government has sent millions to companies in New Jersey for coronavirus relief efforts since Congress passed the CARES Act in March and locally it still being doled out.

More than $422,000 of that federal money ended up in Chester, including two payments to New Jersey Glove Company LLC, according to the Federal Procurement Data System. The company received a payment of $172,525 and $249,826.50.

Congress passed the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27. In addition to direct aid to people who lost their jobs and the Paycheck Protection Program to help small businesses avoid laying off workers, the act included direct government spending for fighting the coronavirus.
