Chester Rec. Summer Day Camp Opens Registration To Residents

CHESTER, NJ — The Chester Summer Recreation Camp is back and recently opened registration for township and borough residents. The camp will run on an abbreviated schedule because of COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, limiting campers per grade per week.

The program takes place at the Black River Middle School and Chester Area Pool. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays. No before or aftercare will be available.

Campers will rotate through supervised activities, including games, team building, arts and crafts, sports, music and entertainment. The camp is run in six, one-week sessions.

The campers will get swim time in the pool on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Special entertainment will occur each Tuesday and Thursday, including live animal shows and magicians.

Nonresidents can begin registering at 6 a.m. Monday. A $50 deposit is due during registration with full payment due by May 21.A $50 late fee will be applied to all registrations and unpaid balances after May 21. Make checks payable to Chester Township Recreation. There will be no refunds on deposits, late fees, or cancellations after May 21.

• Week 1, week of July 6 (no camp on July 5) Fee: $235
• Week 2, week of July 12 Fee: $260
• Week 3, week of July 19 Fee: $260
• Week 4, week of July 26 Fee: $260
• Week 5, week of August 2 Fee: $260
• Week 6, week of August 9 Fee: $260
