Do you know of a veteran laid to rest in Mendham?

Honoring Mendham Veterans - Eagle Scout Project

As part of an Eagle Project initiative to map veterans buried in Mendham's Hilltop and St. Joseph's cemeteries, Boy Scouts in Mendham Troop 1 initially identified the resting places of 325 veterans when they canvassed the cemeteries on foot.

However, once we started crowdsourcing information, we subsequently identified nearly 100 additional veterans.

  • name
  • cemetery name (Hilltop or St. Joseph's in Mendham)
  • description of where/how we could find their grave

With this information, we will check to see if we have the veteran included on our map. If not, once the snow makes it possible, we will visit the cemeteries to locate their resting place and confirm that we have found them (or ask for more details if need be).
