Dombrowski Reaches Pinnacle Of Scouting
Thomas Dombrowski Honored At Eagle Scout Ceremony

Thomas (“Tommy”) Dombrowski, son of Mark and Suzanne Dombrowski of Chester, NJ, has achieved Boy Scouting's highest rank, that of Eagle Scout. He received his Eagle badge during a court of honor ceremony on January 4th at the Community Presbyterian Church in Chester.
To earn the award, a Scout must be active with and assume a position of leadership in a troop, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, and complete a service project that benefits the community. The ceremony was attended by Chester Lion’s Club President Casper Meijer, Morris County Police Lieutenant Aaron Tomasini, Chester Township Mayor Marcia Asdal, Chester Borough Mayor Janet Hoven, Deputy Freeholder Director Heather Darling, New Jersey Assemblywoman Aura Dunn and New Jersey State Senator Anthony Bucco.
Tommy’s time in scouting began as a Cub Scout, in Chester’s Pack 316. It was there that he achieved the program’s highest award, the Arrow of Light. Deciding to continue his scouting journey, Tommy joined Boy Scout Troop 139 in Chester. Since that time, he has held a number of leadership positions including Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and Senior Assistant Patrol Leader. Tommy has also participated in numerous camping outings, hiking trips, and community services projects, all of which helped him develop and grow his leadership skills and mentor his fellow scouts. Tommy recalls his fondest memories of scouting being those moments that he spent with and learned from his fellow scouts.

For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Tommy took on the task of making a number of much needed safety improvements to the bell tower at the Community Presbyterian Church in Chester. Elements of this bell tower had deteriorated over the years and were in need of repair. The installation of several safety features by Tommy and his team will now enable children and other members of the church to safely access and ring the church’s bell for Sunday mass. Tommy developed a plan and secured the resources needed for these improvements. Under his direction, both his fellow scouts and adult volunteers helped complete the project, which took nearly 191 man-hours.
Tommy is currently a senior at West Morris Mendham High School where he has participated in various clubs and activities including Sci-Fi Fantasy, Robotics and the Marching Band. He is also a co-founding member of the Boy’s Intramural Volleyball Club. Tommy will be graduating this spring and will be attending Penn State University this fall to study Cybersecurity.
