Downed Tree, Wires Close Chester Road

Police are not sure when the road will reopen.

CHESTER, NJ — Downed trees and wires have closed a Chester road Monday afternoon, police said.

North Road is closed between Old Farmstead Road and Cramer Drive as of 2 p.m., police said. JCP&L has been called to address the power lines, then the Morris County Shade Tree can remove the tree.

Police do not know when JCP&L will arrive, and its not clear when the road will reopen. Currently, just 25 customers are without power in Chester.
