Intoxicated Man Accidentally Crushed In Compactor: Morris Co. PD

ROXBURY, NJ — A Roxbury man was injured in a cardboard compactor incident at the Ledgewood Plaza Friday night, Roxbury police said.

Police say an employee of Best Cellars Wine and Spirits was using the cardboard compactor around 9 p.m. on Friday when he realized someone was inside, police said. The employee immediately turned the compactor off after realizing someone was in there, and another employee called 911, police said.

The man inside, a 39-year-old from Ledgewood, was alert following the ordeal, police said. He was seriously injured, but his life was not in danger. Police said the man was taken to a local hospital.

Police told nj.com the man was likely intoxicated when he crawled into the compactor.
