Ex-Gov. Christie: Trying To Call Trump, Tell Him To Stop Violence
VIDEO: NJ Ex-Gov. Chris Christie told ABC News that he's trying to call President Trump to tell him to stop the violence in Washington DC.

WASHINGTON, DC – New Jersey Ex-Gov. Chris Christie told ABC News on Wednesday that he's trying to call President Trump to tell him to stop the violence in Washington DC.
Christie said he was trying for 25 minutes "on the phone myself. I haven't been successful yet but I'm going to continue to try."
"And it's pretty simple: The president caused this protest to occur. He's the only one who can make it stop," Christie told ABC News.

Gov. Phil Murphy also addressed the violence, calling it one of America's "darkest days:"
We are witnessing one of the darkest days in American history. The President must immediately condemn the attempted coup at the U.S. Capitol and deploy the National Guard to keep Members of Congress safe and allow a peaceful transition of power.

Christie said the president has to come out and tell his supporters to leave the Capitol grounds and "anything short of that is an abrogation of his responsibility."
Christie said that Trump's and Vice President Mike Pence's words asking people to stop the violence were "not good enough."
