Expect Detours For Mendham Water Main Replacement Project
The construction on East Main St./Route 24, from Hilltop Road/Mountain Ave. to Cold Hill Rd., begins June 3 and will likely last 12 weeks.

MENDHAM, NJ - Those driving through Mendham Borough should expect construction delays and detours from a water main replacement project on East Main St. beginning June 3 and expected to last about 12 weeks.
According to a statement from Mendham Borough Police Chief John Camoia, New Jersey American Water will replace the street's 6-inch cast iron water main in place since the 1920s, with new 12-inch ductile water pipes.
Montana Construction, New Jersey American Water’s contractor, will work every Monday through Friday on the project until completion, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on East Main St./Route 24, between Hilltop Road/Mountain Avenue to Cold Hill Road.

In addition to the new water main, the contractor will replace 97 service lines and eight fire hydrants, along the stretch.
Mendham Borough Police Officers will direct traffic and drivers daily, while construction is underway.

“Please allow me to apologize in advance for the inconvenience,” Camoia said. “We will do our best to keep traffic moving, but please be patient and do allow yourself extra travel time.”
