It's time to break out your windshield ice scrapers and mittens.
MENDHAM, NJ — With fall in full swing and winter slowly getting closer, the National Weather Service has issued the first frost advisory of the season for Morris County.
In effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, residents in northern New Jersey could see "fairly widespread frost," the NWS says. Temperatures will stay in the lower to mid 30s during the night, and any sensitive plants could be killed by the frost, they warn.
After a cold spell Friday night into Saturday, North Jersey residents can expect a sunny Saturday with highs in the lows 60s. Sunday will be about the same temperature, but with a chance of rain that could last through Wednesday.
