Flooding Closes Chester Road Tuesday Afternoon

Breaking: It's not clear when the road will reopen.

CHESTER, NJ — Flooding has closed a Chester road ahead of the Tusday evening rush hour, Chester Police said.

As of 3:15 p.m., Tannersbrook Road is closed between Carlisle Court and Furnace Road. It's not clear when the road will reopen. Drivers should take another route home. Police did not say when the road might reopen.

Other local police departments have issued warnings for drivers that have to head out in today's rain.

"If you have to drive, slow down and keep your lights on. Do not drive through floodwaters or deep puddles, which can cause your car to stall or you to lose control," Morristown police said.
