ROCKAWAY, NJ — A home health aide is accused of stealing nearly $10,000 from the family of an elderly Rockaway woman she was taking care of, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said.

Rosemarie Antoine, 61, from Newark, faces one count of theft and 14 counts of forgery charges for allegedly stealing checks from her client's 88-year-old husband, Knapp said.

Antoine was hired in 2015 by the husband to act as a home health aide and provide in-home care for his wife. She worked for the couple until September 2018, when the husband realized Antoine had deposited checks with his forged signature into her personal account, Knapp said.
