Mendham Township Police Mark Year Of COVID
As the community adapted to the changing protocols, the Mendham Township Police Department was on the front line.
MENDHAM, NJ - As New Jersey passed the one-year anniversary since the COVID-19 pandemic changed the community, the Mendham Township Police marked the ocassion with a statement.
"A year has passed since our Township entered the COVID 19 Pandemic. Members of the MTPD, like everyone, had to adapt to new and rapidly changing protocols and do our best to keep everyone safe," the statement noted.
The department also acknowledged some of the positives they saw in 2020. During that time, in addition to handling over 3000 calls for service, MTPD has:

- Assisted and Lead 4 Different Township Wide Parades including Easter, Mothers Day, 4th of July and Santa
- Assisted & helped plan w/the Schools 4 Teacher Parades, MTES Clap Out and MTMS Drive through Graduation
- Assisted & helped coordinate numerous drop of sites for food, clothing, sports equipment & toys for those in need
- Assisted w/3 Drive In Movie Events at the MTMS
- Assisted in coordinating and running our first Social Distanced 4th of July Fireworks in over 20 Years
- Conducted our first ever National Night Out in August at MTES
- Conducted over 60 Birthday Parades with our Fire & EMS partners for our local kids
"We want to thank all of our residents, the Township and our OEM, Brookside & Ralston Engine Companies, Mendham Twp First Aid and the Schools for all the support and team effort in the past year," they said. "We are proud to serve this great community."
