Morris County's Rick Porcello Signs With The Mets
The Cy Young winning pitcher will get paid $10 million for one year, according to the NY Post.

CHESTER, NJ - One of Morris County's native sons is going to be playing ball closer to home in 2020.
Morristown born, Chester-raised MLB pitcher Rick Porcello is coming to the New York Mets, according to the NY Post. Porcello has agreed to a one-year, $10 million dollar deal the report said.
Porcello, the former Seton Hall Prep standout, was drafted by Detroit in 2007 out of high school. During his major league career with the Tigers the right-hander has amassed a 76-63 record with a 4.3 earned run average in 184 games.

In 2015 he was traded to the Boston Red Sox and in 2016 had a breakout season that earned him the 2016 American League Cy Young Award. The award is handed to the most outstanding pitcher in the league by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
In 2016 the Boston Red Sox ace led the majors with 22 wins, compiling career highs with a 3.15 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 223 innings.
