N.Y. Jets Honor West Morris Central Football Coach

Kevin Hennelly was Gang Green's Week 9 pick.

CHESTER, N.J.– After defeating rival West Morris Mendham, Kevin Hennelly of West Morris Central High School earned the N.Y. Jets High School Coach of the Week award.

Coach Hennelly will be presented with a certificate and award ball and is invited to watch Gang Green take on the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 1 at MetLife Stadium, the organization said in a news release.

The Coach of the Week award is given to a coach in the Tri-State area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school and their student-athletes.

Hennelly, a physical education teacher at West Morris Central, is in his 20th season at the helm and 24th overall with the program.

With a 7-0 win over the Minutemen, the Wolfpack improved to 7-1 on the season.
