Say Hello To Fall With Beer And Sausages In Chester
The Chester Lions Club will hold their 17th annual Oktoberfest this weekend.
Beer may not have been the focal point of the original Bavarian celebration in October--history books say the modern-day Oktoberfest began as a more sedate wedding celebration--but it is certainly what we think of today when October rolls around. According to History.com, more than one million gallons of beer are consumed annually at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.
If you can't get over to Europe anytime soon, there's plenty of beer--and sausages, pretzels, and other festivities--right here in Morris County. The Chester Lions Club, an organization dedicated to helping others, is holding their 17th Annual Oktoberfest in Chester. The event, scheduled on both days this weekend, will provide music, professional dancers, activities for kids, and savory and sweet German eats for everyone. Attendees can fill up on bratwurst, German potato salad, sauerkraut, pretzels, apple strudels, and much, much more.
In their own twist, the Chester Lions Club will also be featuring an antique car show on Saturday. Help an organization that helps others and join the fun at Chubb Park in Chester this weekend. The event will happen on both Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, at Chubb Park on West Main Street, between 12 PM to 8 PM. Admission is $6 for adults and children 12 and under are free.
