A mall employee was checked out and released without injury. Two stores were still closed Tuesday afternoon.

MILLBURN, NJ — One employee of the Mall at Short Hills was checked out and released from a hospital after a small explosion at the mall Tuesday afternoon, a mall spokesperson said Tuesday.

Three were cleared (uninjured) on site. One was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation but was released earlier this afternoon without injury. We expect power to be restored to the affected two stores within the next several hours."
Cox clarified that the incident was in a "subterranean room off a common mall corridor."
