You Can Color Scenes From Millburn In Student-Created Book
The AP art students created the drawings. Some of them call attention to local businesses that are struggling amid coronavirus.

MILLBURN, NJ — The students in Millburn High School's Advanced Studio AP Art Program have contributed line drawings of scenes, landmarks, and stores around town for residents to download and color.
Each year, the students become urban sketchers as they sit outside on street corners and benches to create drawings of Millburn Township restaurants, shops, and community buildings.
Now, many of these same local businesses are suffering as residents stay home amid coronavirus.

The organizers said, "This Millburn Coloring Book is a way to provide a fun and engaging vehicle for the community to show support for the businesses that make our town so special."
Students created the drawings on-site in fall, and added some based on photographs taken during this time of “social distancing.”

The class encourages artists of all ages to post their pages on social media with the hashtag #ColorMillburn.
The class wrote, "We also hope that, when our lives return to normal, the community can visit the restaurants and shops to share their drawings and give their business."
If you have a business you think should be represented, email photos to the AP Studio Art teacher, Kathleen Harte Gilsenan, at kathleen.hartegilsenan@millburn.org.
