MILLBURN, NJ – The "Home Bound Vaccination Initiative" is attempting to locate homebound seniors to provide the COVID-19 vaccine directly to residents in Millburn and Short Hills.
Run by the Essex County Department of Health, the initiative is seeking to collect the names and contact information of homebound seniors.
Medicare considers someone homebound if they need the help of another person or medical equipment such as crutches, a walker or a wheelchair to leave their home, or their doctor believes their health or illness could get worse if they leave their home, and it is difficult for them to leave their home and they typically cannot do so.

To provide information on a homebound senior, contact the Millburn Health, Welfare and Human Services Department at 973-535-7961, ext. 231 and provide the senior's name, phone number and address.
There is no definitive information on when the county will be able to provide in-home vaccines.
