Discuss Marijuana 'Your New Neighbor' At Millburn Library Tuesday

Medical marijuana and recreational marijuana is the topic of the Millburn Municipal Alliance Committee program.

MILLBURN, NJ - The imminent expansion of medical marijuana and the legalization of recreational marijuana is the topic of the Millburn Municipal Alliance Committee program "Marijuana…Your New Neighbor?" taking place at the Millburn Library Tuesday night.

The program is set for 7 p.m. and is part of the Millburn Municipal Alliance Committee Empower Hour. Topics covered will be:

  • How will this impact our state and our community?
  • What are the legal and business issues that are involved in the process?
  • What are the legal ramifications for families?
  • How do you talk to your kids about the health and social issues that can arise from the use of marijuana?

  • Land use and municipal attorney, Ed Purcell, Esq., of DiFrancesco, Bateman, Kinsman, Davis, Lehrer and Flaum about the complex legal issues that marijuana legalization will bring to businesses, schools and local governments.
  • Nancy Kislin, LCSW, will facilitate a frank discussion on how to talk to your kids about the legal and health ramifications of marijuana use.

Parents and teens are encouraged to attend. The Millburn Municipal Alliance Committee is a township committee dedicated to creating a safe and health community by providing substance abuse education and prevention programming and working in partnership with the schools, local government and other community partners. Funding is provided by a grant through through the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse with matching funds from the Township of Millburn.
