District to Address Recent Ranking and Reports
Superintendent Dr. James Crisfield will give a presentation on the recently published NJ State Performance Reports and the high school rankings.

Superintendent Dr. James Crisfield will give a presentation at next week's school board meeting to address the recent rankings and reports published, the Millburn school district announced.
The presentation will include an explanation of the new state Performance Reports, how they differ from the former NJ state report cards and what they mean for Millburn Schools, according to the announcement.
He will also be reviewing recent national and state high school rankings and looking at where the schools stand and why, according to each publication’s methodologies.

In the recent rankings and report cards:
- Millburn High School was rated 69th in Newsweek's America's Best High School rankings, which was the highest ranking the district achieved in the last few years and also the highest among open enrollment schools in New Jersey.
- In the school performance reports issued by the Christie administration, Millburn High School didn't rank high among peer schools despite being first in average SAT scores.Â
- Millburn High School dropped three spots to 15th throughout New Jersey in this year's U.S. News and World Report’s Best High Schools rankingÂ
- Millburn Middle School tops of state list in academic achievement and tested in highest percentile throughout the district according to the recent school performance reports issued by the Christie administration.
- Millburn School District's elementary schools were ranked in the top tier in academic achievement throughout New Jersey according to the recent school performance reports issued by the Christie administration.
"We don't really use this report the way the state thinks we use it," Crisfield said previously, referring to the state school report cards. "We have all this data and we look at it all the time. We don't compile it the way they do and compare ourselves to others the way they do."
