MILLBURN, NJ — Is now the time to revive the SID in Millburn? In a letter posted on Patch, former mayor and current Committeewoman Dianne Thall Eglow said she doesn't believe it is.

SID's, or Special Improvement Districts, are districts into which each business pays an amount, and the money is used to beautify and promote the district, such as through events and signage.

In 2018, the Millburn SID dissolved, with the township and other groups taking over some initiatives. Some believe it should be rebooted, but others think that now is the wrong time for shops and services to kick in money, with businesses losing revenues amid the coronavirus pandemic.
