Irene Stampoulos passed away on Wednesday Feb. 8, 2012, at the age of 91, after a lifetime filled with love and a love of life.
Born in Newark, she lived in Millburn for almost 50 years. She was a real Estate broker in the Short Hills area after owning a restaurant business for many years with her late husband, Theodore G. Stampoulos. She enjoyed traveling, exercising, and especially celebrating good times with her family.
She was a wonderfully devoted mother to her children, Anita Eckhard, Roseanne Stampoulos, Janie Szot, James Stampoulos, and Theodore S. Stampoulos, a loving sister to her brother Mike, Maroukis, as well as adored by her six grandchildren, Ashley, Karolyn, Hilary, Mary, Nicholas, and Olivia, all of whom will miss her kind gentle, good nature but will remember her with fond and happy memories.
In honor of her life, visitation will be held from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday Feb.12, at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue in Union, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Monday February 13th, 2012 at 11 am at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield, NJ.
