MILLBURN, NJ — 'Tis the season to make a little magic in store windows — especially if it involves a train, that slow-moving reminder of simpler times. (See photos below.)

Every year, Short Hills-based real estate professional Maggee Miggins decorates her windows for the holidays with some type of mechanical-themed display. This year, some other North Jersey businesses helped out.

The theme is "Polar Express," said a representative, and features lighted birch trees, a fully functioning mechanical train with lighted trees (designed by Mechanical Displays in Brooklyn, who has contributed to the Macy's windows in the past) and a "Hot Chocolate" display.

The Hot Chocolate display features a smoking samovar from Classic Antiques in Garwood and vintage candy jars and accessories from Summit Antiques.

The windows can be seen at The Maggee Miggins Group at Compass RE at 36 Chatham Road in Short Hills (near the train station).
