Look Up for the Space Shuttle this Morning
The space shuttle Enterprise is expected to fly piggyback style on a 747 to JFK Airport this morning.
That piggyback riding space shuttle is set to arrive in New York this morning. NASA's last twitter comment, suggested that all systems are "go" at Dulles and that the shuttle was headed down the runway and will soon be winging its way to NYC.
According to this morning's Wall Street Journal, the Enterprise, the very first shuttle in NASA’s fleet, is set for a piggyback on a Boeing 747 for a five-borough flyover before touching down at JFK Airport. The flight is tentatively scheduled for some time between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with real-time updates on the itinerary to be posted on Twitter here. A tweet at 9:13 a.m., said the space shuttle had begun taxiing at Dulles.
The space shuttle will then be on display at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in Manhattan.
