A Love Story Behind The Yellow Chairs At MoonShine
"Sometimes we see other people in our chairs on their first dates and we smile, because we know what can happen!"

For this month's Love In A Small Town feature, we asked Patch readers to tell us the story behind a specific spot in town where they fell in love. For Jennifer Ventura, this spot is the MoonShine Modern Supper Club in Millburn, New Jersey. Here is her story:
“These yellow chairs tell the story of my dream come true. Carl and I met on Match. We arranged to meet at MoonShine Modern Supper Club for a drink. Who knew this would be the beginning of our love story?
We sat, had some wine and just talked. It was the perfect place for a meet-up. Every time we would go on a date, we always visited our yellow chairs to sit and talk and laugh together.
A few months later we had an official meet with my parents. The four of us sat in those yellow chairs and talked the afternoon away. It was an amazing afternoon and the beginning of strong bonds.
It seems that every time we had something to celebrate — our first ‘I love you,’ my 40th birthday, the day we moved in together, we celebrated in those chairs.
On July 30, 2016, Carl said, ‘Let’s go over to MoonShine and have a drink.’ I couldn’t understand why — it was pouring out and we always walk there since we live around the corner. However, we headed out.
While we were there Carl expressed how he felt about us and how he was so excited about the future. The next thing I knew, he was on his knee asking me to marry him. Right there, in our favorite chairs where it all began, I said, ‘Yes!’
We were married May 20, 2017. You can still find us there sitting in our yellow chairs, enjoying our lives together in the most perfect place for beginnings. Sometimes we see other people in our chairs on their first dates and we smile, because we know what can happen!"
