MILLBURN, NJ – After Gov. Phil Murphy said restaurants could reopen for outdoor dining on June 15, many eateries took advantage, and local towns passed new rules, including closing off streets so that hungry patrons could be served while socially distancing. Some towns also offered fitness activities, live music, and other events.

Last weekend Millburn closed off a portion of Main Street for outdoor dining, saying they'd do so on more weekends if it went well.

This weekend, from Friday afternoon through early Monday morning, the township of Millburn will again close off part of Main Street — and add fitness activities as well.

"Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 26, Main Street will be closed between Essex Street and Millburn Avenue until early Monday morning," said Mayor Jackie Lieberberg in a Friday update, "to allow for outdoor dining throughout the weekend. In addition to outdoor dining, two of our local fitness studios will be offering limited-capacity pop-up outdoor fitness classes on Main Street this weekend! Interested participants must register to join."
