Millburn Beats West Orange in Five-Inning Mercy Rule

The Millburn baseball won over West Orange 15-5 Wednesday.

The Millburn varisty baseball team beat West Orange in a five-inning mercy rule on Wednesday. 

Juniors Conor Murray and Matt Gula each had two hits and scored two runs, while Nick Meo and Bradley Bean each drove in two runs as the Millburn baseball team dropped West Orange, 15-5, in Millburn.

The victory improved Millburn’s record this season to 7-2, including a 6-1 mark within the American Division of the Super Essex Conference. Currently, Millburn is alone in second place in the SEC, trailing first-place Seton Hall Prep by only one game.

Millburn is back in action on Friday, April 19 when it hosts SEC foe Bloomfield. On Saturday, the Millers will host its annual Wally Krug Memorial Tournament at the high school.

Millburn will take on Warren Hills and Pope John of Sparta will face Moorestown in the first round games at 11 am. The winners will meet in the championship game at 2 pm while the first-round losers will square off in the consolation game at 2 pm on the junior varsity field.

Millburn has won the Krug Tournament each of the past two years.
