Millburn Cellist to Perform with Bravura Philharmonic
MHS junior will be a featured soloist at the orchestra's Family Concert in March.

Sunny Sung-Eun Chang, a 17-year-old cellist from Millburn, is one of the featured soloists performing with the award-winning Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra in Plainsboro in March.
The Philharmonic, led by music director and conductor Chiu-Tze Lin, on will perform a family concert titled “Music Masters from East to West – Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Ma SiCong,” on Sunday, March 4, 7 pm at the Princeton Alliance Church there.
The concert features symphonic works from the legendary Chinese composer, Ma SiCong and the master of classical music, Beethoven.

Sunny Sung-Eun Chang, along with pianist Kevin Jang and violinist Constance Kaita, will perform the Beethoven Triple Concerto. This Concerto is unique and presents a trio of piano, violin and cello soloing with the symphony orchestra.
Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1994, Sunny first began learning piano at age of three then she switched to studying cello at the age of five. She won many competitions in South Korea, including Ewha Kyunghyang Music Competition, Strad Magazine, Umyun Magazine, Music Journal Competitions, and studied under the tutelage of Ms. Myung-Wha Chung. She attended the prestigious Yewon Music School in South Korea.

In 2007, Sunny moved to the United States and has participated in the Summit Music Festival, won first prize in New York Music Competition, won the New Jersey Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competition and the New Jersey Music Teachers Associations (NJMTA) Competition, and was the grand winner of the National Young Musicians Showcase Competition, and second prize winner at the LISMA International Music Competition. The Millburn High School junior has also appeared as a soloist with the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra, the Westfield Symphony Orchestra, the Summit Symphony Orchestra and performed many times at the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York City.
This concert will be held at the Princeton Alliance Church, 20 Schalks Crossing Road, Plainsboro, NJ 08536.
