Millburn Fishing Derby Set For Saturday

Event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in Taylor Park.

MILLBURN, NJ- For the 36th time in as many years the Millburn Recreation Department will be holding its Annual Fishing Derby Saturday at Taylor Park.

The derby will begin at 9 a.m. with registration going from 8-8:45a.m.

Participation in the derby is free and open to Millburn-Short Hills residents ages 15 and under. Children must bring their own poles/bait, but there will be a very limited supply of bait for sale.

Prizes will be awarded based on different categories as well as raffle prizes. In order to be eligible for a raffle prize, one must register between 8-8:45 a.m.

The fishing derby will end at noon.

Officials said they extend a thank you to this year's sponsors for making the event possible:

  • Millburn Firefighter’s Welfare Association
  • Millburn PBA Local #34
  • Regal Bank

Organizers said they will be posting photos to the Township Instagram account @millburntownship and to hashtag any photos taken during the derby #millburnfish.
