Millburn Police Respond To Wee-Hours Car Burglaries
Several residents reported people breaking into their cars between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. See below for these and other recent police reports.
MILLBURN, NJ — Here are Millburn incidents reported by police in the last three weeks:
On March 22, Officer Kostovski responded to an Oakdale Avenue residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that at 4:29 a.m., an unknown male entered his 2005 Saturn and then attempted to enter another vehicle in his driveway. This incident is under investigation by the Police Detective Bureau.
On March 24, Officer Matos responded to a Cross Gates residence on a report of an attempted burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that at 2 a.m., two men attempted to enter vehicles in his driveway. This incident is under investigation.

On March 24, Officer Ford stopped a suspicious person who was allegedly removing security tags near Victoria’s Secret at the Mall at Short Hills. Officers Kelly and Griffin arrived to assist. Police say the investigation revealed that the subject, 49, of Newark, was in possession of stolen property. He was arrested, issued summonses, and released.
On March 24, Officers Aliotta and Recinos responded to a Meadowbrook Road residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reported that at 4:33 a.m. unknown people entered his 2012 Honda while parked in his driveway. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 28, Police Officers Kerwien and Pinero responded to a Joanna Way residence on a report of an assault. During the investigation, it was determined that the assault occurred between two coworkers at the residence. Police say that a 55-year-old Philadelphia woman attempted to assault the victim again in front of the officers, and she was arrested. She was charged with simple assault and released.
