MILLBURN, NJ — A shoplifter in the Short Hills section of Millburn swiped a Louis Vuitton purse worth $2,480 — or nearly three weeks' salary for the average American — from the Nieman Marcus store, Millburn police reported. Officer Beyer responded to the theft on Friday, Dec. 20. That item represents one of the more pricy handbags sold by the chain.

Ten days earlier, the store was victimized by a woman who filched seven handbags and purses worth a total of $11,000, according to police.
