Millburn-Short Hills' Holiday Traditions

Making special dishes, volunteering at a specific charity or seeing a tree lighting. How does Millburn-Short Hills celebrate the season?

MILLBURN, NJ - As the holiday season approaches its zenith, we here at Patch thought it would be worth looking at how Millburn celebrates.

One cannot think of the holidays in Millburn without the Winter Walk in Taylor Park. The trees along the path are wrapped in lights, the enormous polar bear is the primary target of numerous selfies, and the bridge is adorned with hundreds of lights that reflect into the stream that runs along the Main Street section of the park.

The stroll continues along the Main Street entrance, over the bridge near the Bauer Center and then visitors can head for hot chocolate or dinner at numerous restaurants.

Food a fellowship are also a part of Millburn School Superintendent Christine Burton's holiday tradition.

"A holiday tradition that I had as a child and now continue with my family is to bake a special holiday cookie recipe and then share them with our neighbors," Burton said. "The elderly neighbors particularly like when we stop by and visit with them with our festive holiday treats."
