Millburn Trick Or Treat Event: Downtown Stores Handing Out Candy

Several stores in Millburn will hand out Halloween candy to kids that visit their stores in costume on Oct. 31.

MILLBURN, NJ — The Downtown Millburn Development Alliance (DMDA) is inviting all ghosts and goblins to downtown Millburn on Tuesday, Oct. 31 between noon and 2 p.m. for their annual “Pre-School Trick or Treat” event.

According to a news release from the DMDA, local merchants participating in the event include Stroller Xpress, Playa Bowls, Bluemercury and others who will hand out Halloween candy to kids that visit their stores in costume.

All participating retailers will be hanging an orange flyer in their window, the DMCA said.

“Being a business owner in Millburn for over 30 years, I can say this is one of the events that I look forward to the most every year,“ said Vicky Powell, president of the DMDA and owner of Shalas Boutique. “This is one of those activities that helps us bond as a community and create a sense of vibrancy in Downtown Millburn.”

New this year will be tables with Halloween activities and candy for kids to enjoy along Main Street and Milllburn Avenue. Tables are sponsored by the Department of Public Works, the Paper Mill Playhouse, the Policemen’s Benevolent Association and the Millburn Fire Department. In addition, Millburn Florist is hosting a photo area on Millburn Avenue where kids can take pictures in costume with fall decorations like pumpkins and bales of hay.
