MMS Brings '13, the Musical' to the Stage

Curtains rise this weekend for the MMS Spring Musical.

Seventy-six students at Millburn Middle School will put on 13 the Musical this weekend, bringing to stage the story of a 13-year-old whose Bar Mitzvah coincides with his family's move across the country.

The music and lyrics for 13, the Musical were written by Jason Robert Brown, and the book is by Dan Elish, with Robert Horn newly joining as co-librettist. The story follows Evan Goldman as he moves from New York City to Appleton, Ind., and his dilemma when the move conflicts with the celebration of his Bar Mitzvah.

The cast, chorus and crew will present this popular production in the Middle School auditorium on March 30 at 7 p.m., March 31 also at 7 p.m. and April 1 for a 1 p.m. matinee. Tickets for reserved seating are $14 and may be purchased at the door. The public is invited.
