Detective Dragged, but Uninjured, in Vehicle Stop
Police police chase suspects onto Route 24 to the Garden State Parkway and I-78.
During motor vehicle stop to look for pick-pocketing suspects this afternoon, a Millburn Police detective was dragged down Route 124.
Detective Edward de la Fuente had stopped and was talking to two women in a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan, when without warning, the driver put the car into drive, dragging de la Fuente with them, according to Police Spokesman Lt. Peter Eakley.
Det. de la Fuente, who was not injured, managed to free himself and intiate a pursuit that lead law enforcement officers to Route 24, which continued until the area of I-78 and the Garden State Parkway.

The women in the minivan were described as in their mid 20s. At this time Millburn Detectives are following up on several leads.
Attempted Purse Snatching: On Tuesday at 8:55 p.m., the Millburn Police Department responded to The Mall at Short Hills in the J-Parking Lot on a report of an attempted purse snatching. The victim reports that she was walking to her vehicle when a red-and-orange sedan came towards her. A man reached out and grabbed the victim's purse.

The victim was able to hold onto her purse stopping the suspect from stealing it. The vehicle left the mall in an unknown direction.
