2 Cars, $23K In Phones Stolen From Short Hills Mall: Police
Millburn police said two cars were stolen from parking lots at the mall in the last two weeks, and phones were stolen from a third vehicle.
MILLBURN, NJ — The Millburn police released reports this week of three incidents involving cars parked at the Short Hills Mall, including the thefts of two cars and the theft of $23,000 worth of iPhones from a different vehicle.
Police said that this past Sunday, Millburn Police Officer Matos responded to Lot J at the Mall at Short Hills on a report of theft of a motor vehicle. The owner reported that his Audi A6 was stolen from the Lot J near Nordstrom between 5 and 6:45 p.m. The incident in under investigation by the Detective Bureau.
In addition, a Millburn Police Officer Lyons responded on April 30 to the orange deck at the Mall at Short Hills on a report of burglary to a motor vehicle. The owner of an Acura MDX reported that someone stole 20 Apple iphones from the unlocked vehicle, with a total value of $23,000. This incident in under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

Four days earlier, on April 26, Millburn Police Officer Matos responded to a different report about a car at orange deck. The vehicle's owner told police that his Mercedes E400 was stolen from the ground level at 3:30 p.m. and that the keys had been left in the vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the Detective Bureau.
