Police Blotter: Burglaries and a Hashish Arrest

Millburn Police Department’s Public Information Officer Lt. Pete Eakley provided the following crime information for last week:
- Possession of Controlled Substance: While on patrol on Jan. 2 at 10:38 p.m., Millburn Police Officer Steve Nacim observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Glenwood School. Upon investigating further, Nacim found the driver, Vidush Jaipura, 19, from Short Hills, to be smoking hashish. Ultimately Jaipura was arrested and charged with possession of a control dangerous substance, drug paraphernalia, operation of a motor vehicle in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Jaipura was released pending his court hearing.
- Home burglary: On Jan. 2 at 2:46 p.m. the Millburn Police Department responded to Exeter Road home on a report of a burglary. Someone had broken into the home between Dec. 28, 2011 and Jan. 2, 2012 through a smashed patio door. Miscellaneous jewelry and papers were stolen from the home.
- Vehicle burglary: On Jan. 6 at 8:23 p.m., the Millburn Police Department responded to a Wyoming Avenue residence on the report of a burglary to an automobile. The owner had seen someone entering an unlocked 2001 Infinity but suspect fled without removing anything from the vehicle.
