Road Runners Raise Money for The Valerie Fund

Hartshorn running club builds strong muscles and self esteem and raise money for other kids in the process.

Hartshorn School 3rd and 1st grade teachers Terri Cullen and Rebecca Dubnow coached the Hartshorn Road Runners after-school running club for their students this spring.

In addition to fun and exercise, the teachers’ aim was to build self-esteem and confidence among girls through running and team building activities.

Now the Road Runners are running in the Valerie Fund 5K on Saturday, June 9. So far the team has raised $2,444, including a donation of $1,000 from the proceeds of the 5th Grade Talent Show.
